Well, imagine that, posted things before that happened after one of the happiest moments in my life.
I recently got engaged to my true love Lindsey. She is incredible but my ability at words ends there. She once said that it was flattering to have taken the words out of an English grad student, and to be sure that is, for the most part, true. I did have a lot planned to say when I proposed, but my heart took over and it was overwhelmed with joy at the idea of being totally committed to this wonderful woman.
I use that phrase intentionally to bring attention to a sort of phenomena that occurred when we went to Oregon on the trip I had planned to ask her father, and mother, for permission. Psycologically I believe it's called a reticular activator. When something is on your mind, a friend buys a new car, you start to see it everywhere. Your brain is actually just noticing because you have something to relate to it in your consciousness.
The day before we left we watched some cartoon that was all about marriage, on the ride up Lindsey, unknowingly, puts in Foxworthy's "Totally Committed" CD, stand-up comedy all about marriage, there we watch the Cosby show which is about a bridal shower and Theo wanting to get engaged, and episode of Robot Chicken had three sketches about love and marriage, and there was one movie we watch that slips my mind but something was mentioned along those lines. Hard to deal with I can tell ya.
Now I am happily engaged and am looking forward to all the excitement of the planning and the pleasure Lindsey and I will have expressing ourselves to those we love through what we choose for the wedding options. I have received so very many congrats and it thrills me to see so many people I care about this happy for me.
Everyone loves Lindsey, of course, ME most of ALL!
