With much reluctance and the obvious disappointment I have to announce that I did not get into Rice University in the beautiful city of Houston, TX. I still maintain my faith in God that he will place me where it is his will for me to be. It sounds so noble to do so, but it comes hard at times and when I succeed in giving him all my hopes, which I do believe I have been succeeding at lately, it comes as a quite peace and comfort.
But alas; I have not Rice.

Ahhhh! I know how much you were hoping for Rice. You're one of the most intelligent and hard-working guys out there, Rick, and something is going to come your way.
Thanks Tim; I appreciate that. I hope to work toward something good and I really think that I could teach well. Amazing to think it, I had never thought myself teacher material.
Look out Mr. Garmston! hehe
PS - did I ever tell you I met Mr. Garmston at Sac State?
I think so. Was he the guy who wanted you to send your final to his cabin?
No, he was an English teach at Folsom HS around when we were freshmen and sophomores. He even remembered me and even asked about Renee'. Cool guy, I remember he even was the one that recommended me to Advanced English w/ Mr. Tastor. Too bad I got a C the last semester and had to go back, but hey, I guess you could consider it the beginning of my career in English, my big break :)
