Metronome

Those who love electronic love it for many reasons. Those who don't , in my experience, have a hard time getting past the persistent beat: it is the thump -thump -thump -thumb that that sets them to think they don't really care for it.

I call that sound the audible metronome. Of course, one can always hear a metronome, that is its function. But it sets the course, a musical compass. The metronome is just that in techno, electronica, what have you. It sets dead center for all the musical complexities to surround as they in turn surround the senses.

I am amazed the remember how much energy in my life has been set to that tempo, varying speeds, some slower some intense with meaning and others without a care; that energy that brought me so high and was in the background at times when I was so low.

Tick tock went my heart as the music played.
